Introduction

The software esaDrive is a so-called URCap. URCaps (Universal Robots Collaborating Apps) are extensions for robots manufactured by UNIVERSAL ROBOTS. Just like smartphone apps, they can be installed on the robot to add new functionality.

With the esaDrive URCap, additional electric drives can be easily integrated into the robot program and controlled from there. This allows, for example, linear units or rotary axes to be seamlessly included in robot applications.

This documentation explains the requirements, installation, and commissioning of the esaDrive URCap and shows how the additional drives can be used within the robot program.
